Advanced/Expert off-piste day

Gaelle's program for today was an Advanced/Expert day with the intended focus being steeps, fast stuff and off-piste. We managed to cover all of this and ranged from Parsenn to Jakobshorn.

The day began with the five of us warming up by dropping down the red, 44, from the Grotschna to the Parsennmader T-bar. The snow was good and the run had wonderful views down towards the lake in Davos Dorf. We then skied to the Furka T-bar and took 19 down to the Totalp chair. Down 11 to the Meierhoftali and then down the off-piste bumps beside 15. We then took the Gipfelbahn to the top of the Weissfluhgipfel and took the black, number 2 down and, since we had enjoyed the bumps so much we did them again. Once back at the top of Weissfluhjoch we skied down towards Davos Dorf on 4 and 9. The rocks and ice at the bottom of 9 had been dealt with and the whole run was much nicer, and emptier, than the last time we'd skied it. Unfortunately the off-piste to the side of the top of 9 was very hard and frozen and, generally, cruddy (but I was told not to bother skiing it and skied it anyway!).

A bus ride to Davos Platz and we grabbed a quick lunch at the Bolgen restaurant and then headed up Jakobshorn. We skied the off-piste under the Jatz Quattro lift again and that was still in good condition and was great fun, so good we skied it twice. Next we cut across Gugglebahn gondola back to the top. Down the black, no 5, and then down red 5 and the blue (w14?) to the mid station of the Jalobshornbahn gondola. We then took the Bramabuel T-bar to the top and skied down the black, no 1, and dipped in and out of the rather nice choppy off piste to the side. Down the red to the mid station again and then back to the top to do no 5 again. By this time the light was going (some nicely menacing clouds coming in) and we were all just a little tired, so we downloaded, grabbed some hot drinks at the station and took the train back to Klosters.
