After the gala dinner yesterday evening, when the festivities in the dining room had died down we went up onto the roof to watch the fireworks. Then it was straight to bed so that we could be up to ski today. The first day's skiing always tends to be a bit of a slow starter as you have to get your gear sorted but we were up on the snow by 11ish. We explored the Jackobshorn area of Davos and the skiing is good, better conditions than Avoriaz had, less rocks, though the off piste looks pretty dodgy at present. We managed to find one run with a good covering of rocks but nothing too bad. There was intermittant, light snow, throughout the morning. We stopped for a late lunch of rosti and then the weather started to close in. Lots of big fluffy flakes were falling and the vis was pretty bad so we decided to head back.
