Ski Club Rep's Course: Day 6

Today we had an off-piste skiing day with a Roland Stieger a mountain guide from Chamonix. Unfortunately there wasn't much open today due to the weather. High winds and poor visibility at the top meant that they closed everything except the route down via the double M to Val Claret. We skied this a few times, Roland put us through our paces and accessed our skiing both on and off-piste and tested us on our knowledge of leading and mountain safety. We had lunch at the base, did one final run and then stopped for a beer and a debrief. A good day that could have been so much better had there been more open. Still, at least it's snowing!
