Video from this week

Some of the video of me skiing gates this week.

A normal link in case the active movie thing above doesn't work.

No doubt the file requires that you have all the latest Microsoft stuff for it to work, but what the hell, all the people that are likely to be interested should be able to view it.

Here’s a tip form a former racer…you’re brining that hand opposite the gate, as opposed to the uphill hand, across a little too much in some instances that to me looks like it throws you off balance. It’s a classic mistake. If you’re not skiing right into the gate, don’t bring that hand across your chest to hit it, it will throw you off every time. I can see it from here! Ahha…:-) but seriously…I can see it. only hit the gate with the downhill hand if your line is dead on. Example: the second run in the traverse you bring your hand across to hit the second gate. And how come I don’t see any pole planting when you get to the mini gates. Plant those poles!! And I think you’re still sitting back a little, be aggressive! but still pretty good dude! I’m impressed and being overly critical at the same time. Hey…I haven’t skied in 4 months, give me a break :-)

Guilty as charged. All of those issues were brought up by my coach and I was working on them :) I still have a lot of work to do but I'm getting there! Those gates are addictive so I'm sure I'll be back in them soon!

Hope you're fully recovered, get back on those skis and good luck!

And what happens when I get home and see Mum and Dad? Dad says to me, liked that slalom video you uploaded, but i've been watching the slalom on TV and you're not angulating enough... They get their legs out much further than you do... Thanks Dad, I knew that ;)
