Instructor: Day 7

Today was our first solo teaching session. We were each given an element of the Central Theme to teach in a lesson lasting 20 minutes. Julian and two other members of the group observed each lesson and the rest of the group were the students that we had to teach. The teaching went pretty well for all of us. We were all pretty stressed about it beforehand but that didn't really show once we were doing our lesson.

After the teaching we skied bumps all afternoon. I actually can't remember a day when we didn't ski bumps all afternoon; it's hard work, my knees need a rest... But... We're all improving massively in the bumps... Today I was working on using less edge, keeping my skis flat and just using pressure to control my speed; when it worked it was good, when it didn't I usually ended up going far too fast and flying out of the moguls...

This evening we reviewed our lessons, we all did well, and then some of us were given specific teaching sessions for tomorrow and some of us were allowed to choose our own. Tomorrows lessons are 'beyond The Central Theme' and I've selected bumps (!) with a focus on improving people's absorption of the bumps.
