During my trip to Tignes in April I skied with the Ski Club of Great Britain's Reps. These are guys that voulenteer to spend 3 weeks in one of the Ski Club resorts and ski (and drink) with club members, or people who'd like to be club members. The Ski Club also runs holidays and some of their Reps lead these holidays as well. On our trip we had 4 reps leading the trip and 3 more on holiday. By the end of the trip most of the reps had spent time trying to convince me that I should apply as they all thought I was ideally suited to the role...
It seems that since I could drink and socialise until 2am every night and still be up and out early and ski hard all day I ticked some of the boxes for being a Ski Club Rep (or so the guys on the trip thought :) ). When I got back, I decided to see if I ticked enough of the other boxes, so I sent in my application form and had two of the guys act as referees for me. I had my interview on Tuesday and today found out that I've been accepted and so can go on the "Reps Course" in Tignes in December. Some of the guys suggested that the course was so much fun that it was worth doing in its own right! The course has elements of performance skiing, snowcraft and mountain safety. All of which will nicely augment the work I'll be doing in Argentina. If I pass the course then I can do as much or as little repping as I like (and they can fit in for me!). Sounds like fun and adds something else to the list of options that I'm currently collecting for life after Argentina.
