Lithium Batteries and Avalanche Beacons

There's a useful explaination about why it's not a good idea to use lithium AA cells in avalanch beacons over on PisteHors.com. In summary, don't and the reason is that it's all down to how the beacons detect the amount of charge remaining in the batterys. Using lithiums might mean that your beacon will go from showing 90% charge to dead in a very short time and, well, that's not ideal...
