We went back to the La Balme base area of La Clusaz again today. The forecast for today was for warm weather and sunshine and it's going to stay that way for the rest of the week. The snow first thing was very smooth and lightly frozen. It was obviously very wet yesterday when they groomed it and then froze overnight, though it seems from the snow that the freezing level was around 2100m or so. We skied the same runs we'd skied last time we were here and they softened pretty quickly as the day warmed up. We finished with a few runs down the soft bumps on the Les Choucas black.
It was a short day, we finished around 1.30, but the skiing was good. We both skied well and Miche did especially well on the last but one run down the bumps on Choucas. We were originally planning to ski at Cote 2000 in Megève on Sunday, the last skiing day in Megève this season, but we expect the conditions will be pretty poor. We'll probably drive up there on Saturday afternoon to take a look at the slopes from the car park and see if we think it's worth getting up early on Sunday to ski it, but I have a feeling that today was the last skiing of our season.
