Dual discipline lessons on Mont d'Arbois

Another day on the snowboard for me and another day on telemark for Miche. Lucy was on telemark and I tagged along with the girls and got some more pointers whilst Miche had her lesson. I had far more falls today, it seemed to take me a while to get my weight right and this led to lots of time with too much weight on the back foot which always ended in high speed tears. Eventually I got it right and my turns imrpoved a lot. By the end of the day I was able to do small, controlled, linked turns on green and blue pistes.

Miche's telemark didn't go quite as well as my boarding, she had a day like I had in Les Saisies and she tried the alcohol fix (Vin Chaud) but that just left her giggly as well as being unbalanced. No pictures of Miche as she had the camera because I was deemed to dangerous to carry it...

Snow conditions were surprisingly poor today. The warm weather has taken its toll on the recent snow and we think that today was probably the last time we'll ski Mont d'Arbois. Today was quite icy first thing and then there was lots of brown and lots of slushy, sticky snow (which I didn't notice at all on the snowboard).

And now we're off to the airport to pick up Pat, Miche's mum, who's staying with us for a week.
