Catherine had to catch the bus to Geneva at 17.00 tonight so we stayed local and skied Rochebrune. Looks like we made the right decision; it was SO quiet on the slopes that I'd like to personally thank everyone who either went home today or decided to ski Mont d'Arbois instead; it was almost like January again. When the clouds allowed we could see that the Mont d'Arbois slopes were as busy as expected and the usual choke points were choking, as usual... We hit one queue today and that was due to a bunch of racers having started using Tour as a slalom course.
The skiing was good today. The snow is great at the moment as long as you avoid the icy patches and they're becoming easier to avoid by the day. We're due more snow tomorrow through Monday so I expect all ice will have been banished by next week. The off-piste is good, lots of new snow and all of the hard bits seem to have been assimilated in the new fluffy stuff. It's all light and lovely; dive in.
We were planning a lunch at L'Alpette, and we booked a table on the way out, but they were busy so we couldn't get as early as we wanted. Then people started thinking about a coffee break so we had a change of plan and got an early table at Super Megève and ate there.
A few runs after lunch whilst and then back home for 15.00 so that Catherine could pack and then we dropped her off at the bus station, did some shopping, internet and then home for some home-made pumpkin soup, beer and a movie.
