Snow's back

We got onto the slopes at about 10.30 and after the first run Miche decided that her legs were suffering a bit from yesterday's running around so we decided to cancel the bump run plan and have a slightly easier day. Clouds were rolling in on Mont d'Arbois so we decided to stay over on Rochebrune. After some stretching Miche's legs felt a bit better and we decided to take a couple of runs down under the Alpette chair to warm up. Snow was starting to fall but it was quite light and very fine, hardly worth bothering with...

Once we'd warmed up we headed over towards Fontaine and, thanks to the inclement weather, it was pretty quiet; we'd like to send a big thank-you to all of the people who didn't ski today ;). The light was pretty flat which made things a little more interesting as the run has been cut up quite a bit and there were lots of small lumps and bumps to deal with. The snow increased a little and we did several runs in varying conditions - each run with more new snow - until we decided to stop for an early lunch.

One large Tarticrozets later the snow was falling with more gusto and we put in a few more runs on Fontaine before heading back towards Alpette. Miche had been having some issues with the bumpy state of the pistes, not feeling balanced and getting thrown around a lot, so we decided to work on her technique for a bit on the reds and blues under Caboche. By the end of the day she was happier and had more control. Once again it was a stance thing; too much of a front to back split between uphill and downhill ski was causing her to be back at the end of the turn which took the pressure off the turning ski and let it throw her around. Reducing the split and keeping both feet more directly under her hips seemed to help...

The snow was still falling at apartment level when we got back but it seems to have stopped now. I expect we got about 4" or so, maybe more and there's more forecast for later tonight.
