The greens and blues of Rochebrune

Today we skied with Maria and Milky. They're having some lessons tomorrow and later in the week and wanted to get warmed up and ready for them with an easy day today. After last night's late night Carcassonne game (we finished at 2am) we set out around 11 and had a relaxed day helping them to get their legs working...

They hired their boots and skis from Ski Technique at the base of the Rochebrune lift; this is where we both bought our new skis from and they have a pretty good policy for when you're demoing skis. If you buy from them you get all your hire costs back - not just for the ski you actually buy but for all of the ones you tried on the way to making your decision...

Milky has only skied one week before but is coming on nicely and Maria tends to prefer the bars and restaurants to the actual skiing so we took it nice and slowly working our way around the greens and blues in Rochebrune and lunching at Super Megève.

It was interesting to be skiing slowly on easy pistes; the B2s go backwards quite nicely and the slightly raised tail makes the transition from front to back much easier than the XScreams. I also spent a little time working on my hip angulation, we'd decided that my left turn issue was probably due to me leaning my whole body into the hill rather than just pushing my hip in and leaving my weight over my downhill ski; a pretty spectacular error, but one that's easy to fix.
