It stopped snowing, got cold and my technique sucked.
The snow that started on the 18th finally cleared up on Wednesday this week and the skies cleared and the temperatures plummetted. It's been cold this week; reliably below -10'C and with a bitter wind that took the windchill to -40'C on some days (according to the weather reports).
We've been exploring the Mont d'Arbois side of the ski area and getting to know the less used runs down to St Gervais and St Nicolas, these areas seem to be considerably quieter than the more obvious runs down the front of Mt Joux so are probably a better bet for weekends when the Geneva crowd arrives.
Miche has had some of her best skiing of the trip this week and I've had some of my worst, still, I've fixed one of the problems and I'm currently working on the other one. I'm optimistic that once I fix that problem my skiing will be significantly better than it was before our Verbier trip...
It seems that you spend a lot time analyzing your technique. In the US my experience has been that most of us use the "Just Do It" technique.
Maybe that's why the best skiers are from Europe, and freestyle hacks are from the US.
We've got some fresh snow in Tahoe. Although I'm currently taking in a beautiful day here in San Francisco.
Have Fun,
Christopher

I'm doing plenty of "just do it" skiing as well, but I have a couple of things I'm working on right now technique-wise and I'm finding the self analysis helpful. I know what you mean though, sometimes I just decide that I'll just get on with it and stop thinking and it all works much better :)
