This weekly review is a little late, but, whatever... In summary, it snowed.
This week started off a bit sporty; we watched Polo and Ice Hockey matches which were both really good. I'm not a particular fan of watching sport (or taking part for that matter) but I really enjoyed both events.
I started to experiment with my ski repair tools and filled some holes in the old skis we have with us. Hopefully this week I'll hot wax them and sort out the edges and then I may even take them out to see if my handiwork is up to scratch.
It started snowing on the 18th and snowed pretty much full time from then through to this morning when we have clear skies, sunshine and -11'C temperatures...
I bought new skis, Rossignol B2s, and we skied 8 days straight, though due to the snow some of the days were shorter than others. We skied in Les Contamines which was fun and quite different to skiing in Megève. I had my fair share of face plants and eventually seemed to get the hang of skiing in powder that's over the knee.
We had our first visitors stay with us and the good news is that the beds in the Mezanine are comfortable... The visit went well, though John suffered from the whiteout conditions bringing on his vertigo and Janine had hurt her back before the trip so didn't ski at all.
