We spent the afternoon sking the Le Jaillet area (strangely, it seems that you dont pronounce the "ll") with Jonathan - he had a meeting at 4pm so we felt it unlikely we'd have a repeat of the Mont Jolly experience ;)
Conditions were pretty "spring-like"; hard and scrapey in the shade and a little suggary in the sun. Le Jaillet is south facing and so gets lots of sun and loses its snow quite quickly; it needs more, there's mud in places... We did a whirlwind tour of this side of the ski area. First heading up to the La Giettaz (strangely, you dont pronounce the "az" bit) to take in the wonderful panoramic view from the top of the Torraz chair. Then we "hooned" down Rhodos (a very nice red) and took the drag back up (I could have done another few runs down Rhodos, but time was tight...). From the top we headed back through Le Jaillet and down towards Combloux (pronounced exactly as you'd expect) via some nice (if hard packed) blues and reds. We concluded our tour back at the top of the Le Jaillet gondola with a late lunch at the restaurant there.
